General Grabber ATX tire
Nice looking tire but the design is in line with the Ridge Grappler and a few others I’ve noticed in that the actual tread contact patch is more narrow than the actual tire by design. What I mean by this is the sidewall steps inward a good deal before the tread actually begins. I never paid much attention to this until I got my Grapplers. I don’t like this for two reasons; 1, the aesthetics of this look make the tire look smaller than it actually is and, more importantly, this design lends to less contact width on your driving surface. As measured, my RGs only have a contact patch of 9” when the tire itself is over 11” wide. I don’t care for this because it upsets my pursuit and desires in my off roading tire.
Just be aware of this for those it may matter to. An example of a tire achieving the advertised width would be the KO2 and Falken AT3W by design of the sidewall integrating into the tread.
