What's wrong with using the junkyard? Clean the thing off? I'm sure you bought the car used anyways. Disinfect it, clean the heck out of a with a de-greaser, and continue on.
I don't see or understand the point of spending 300 dollars on a steering wheel to re-wrap it in leather when there's significantly cheaper options out there that are available. I'm not a fan of the wheelskin since it doesn't look that great and mine was already rough looking after a few years. That 300 dollars can easily go towards replacing your worn out driver's seat instead.
The reality is these 4runners probably aren't going to be worth a lot for a long time, they are a dime a dozen and I doubt people are going to spend 10-20k on a 200k+ mile plus one in 10 years from now.
