Pretty much all cars in San Jose have odometer issues. When I lived there you could go on craigslist and get someone to show up and lower your odometer for 40 bucks before selling your car to an unsuspecting person. I find that the best way to tell true mileage is to look at the drivers seat. They are very expensive to replace (especially with airbags) and if it is thrashed or has been reupholstered, someone has sat in it many many times.
