A bit more than bent metal.
If you understand the entire manufacturing process for these the cost does make sense. It'll show you whose doing it right, and who isn't. Just guessing on this but he's my estimate on CBI's cost. This doesn't take into consideration transportation to the powder coat shop considering they don't offer it in house. Plus there's always random shop expenses like stocking, moving, shipping, and so on.
Price breakdown:
*7 gauge CR plate - $200 per 4x8 sheet (32 square feet)
*Roughly .52 square feet per part
*Roughly 60 per sheet ($5.33 each)($2.00 each + operator + shop rate)(depending on nesting you could fit up to 80 on a sheet, but hard to tell without a file)
*Forming approx 90 second per part ($2.00 each)(operator + shop rate)
*Powder Coating (1/4lb per part)($3.64 each)(operator + powder cost)
*Total: $21.94 per pair cost and selling for $44.99 with free shipping
The ones SRQ sells is either low volume or poor nesting with a high yield based on the price. Rago is pricey, but is in line with the cost of stainless. CBI really has a fair price considering what's involved to make these.

Onboard with the math Mike, thanks. I've done my share of fabricating, even some on this 3rd gen, and I just don't want any additional projects at this time. A couple hours of my time and keeping other commitments and promises, more than worth it for me...
Of possible note, I didn't get free shipping from CBI. It was like 12 bucks. I didn't see any specials or discount codes, but I'll check again...
