If you use the traditional (easy to get) velcro options, it will sag with time and heat. If there is a little return/ledge at the bottom of the mount, it would mitigate that issue.
A company called BlendMount uses velcro inspired product (probably 3M made, can't remember - same look as the stuff Tony posted) that works well and I have had good luck with in multiple cars for multiple years. Their product (mounting to a rear view mirror stem) won't work in the 4Runner...
