The 265 Wildpeak has 9 inches of tread. This is on 7.5 wheel but I don't think it matters because the tire unmounted is still 8.9". Section width is different and wheel size matters there.

9" is A LOT for a 265. The stock tire is 8.3" wide in the tread area and most 265s are between 8.3 and 8.8 wide.

In fact, there are 275s that are narrower than a 265 Widlpeak and 285s that are barely wider. It all depends on the specific tire.

On the other end, this also makes comparisons vs 255 exaggerated. Whereas a normal 265 would be 0.5" plus minus a little bit wider than a 255, the P265 Wildpeak is more than 1.25" wider than the narrowest 255s!

So, nothing like the 10 mm difference on either end.
