Let's verify my part numbers.
My springs are stamped z005b50. This is the FJ number but the two springs are supposed to be the same. So it should not matter?
The big box number is the correct one that ends in 768. It is not the FJ part number so that checks out.
The sticker on the shock is: 24-259118. Seems right, too.
So if there is no mixup, then this makes it MORE interesting.
If the Dobinsons and Billstein spring are the same rate, then the very different feel has to be entirely a function of the shock. So the stiffer feel of the Dobs coming from the weak stock shock and the very soft feel of the Billstein coming from the powerful 6112 shock that controls the spring with ease. But I guess I like a bit of a stiffer spring
What do you think,
