I have dual Odyssey group 25s (genesis system) and a buddy has a single Northstar in a JK (don’t know the size). Both are holding up, but there are several things to keep in mind:
1. AGMs have a different charge profile. They require ~14.7 volts to fully charge. The 4Runners alternator only supplies about 13.5 volts which will only charge the AGM to about 85% depending on ambient temperature.
2. To keep the battery healthy it will need to be charged to 100% using a charger with the correct profile about 1-2 times a month. I chose to permanently install a Victron solar controller (which has an AGM profile) inside the engine bay and then I connect it to a 12 volt power supply, basically mimicking a 100w solar panel. This leaves me the option to add solar down the road if needed for roughly the same price as a stand-alone charger.
