Thanks for your message; just saw it (how do I get notifications when someone responds to a post??) Anyway, yeah......I wouldn't hesitate to pay another thousand or two to get a new one, obviously, but what I see for the most part is that a new 2019 would be much more......and then there's the old "amenities creep" thing where it starts at $30K, and then there's this fee and that fee, etc, etc, and next thing you know it's $36K.
I have always shared the concern about rental cars, but I did some reading, and a really good article pointed out a few actual advantages: they are regularly maintained, tend to be lower mileage, etc, etc. I know there are strong opinions about this, and I'd love to hear them, for or against, because there's a lot of former rental runners out there.
