I also like up to 2" lift better. I personally run 1" all around which I think is actually the baseline with proper shocks (and not the stock version of most trims).
I optimize for overall performance on and off road, don't care for looks, and am more concerned with stability in off camber situations and on tilted terrain than with clearing rocks in between the tires.
But tastes and needs vary.
