Howdy all,
After getting 3 feet of snow dumped on me last winter, I finally was able to convince the wife that something 4WD was absolutely required.
We live up in the Sierra Foothills on the way to Tahoe, so snowy mountain roads are a regular thing in winter. Up until now, it hasn't been that bad... but this last winter, sheesh... got snowed in for over a week.
So I start researching which vehicle would fit the bill, and after about a decade of google-fu, reading reviews, watching youtubes, etc... I decided to go 4Runner. I'm used to hummers from when I was in the Marines, but can't swing one price wise.
It took about a month of looking, but I was able to nail down a sweet deal on a 2016 Trail with 15k miles, and got approval... now she's all mine! Literally it's indistinguishable from brand new, minus the smell.
I'll be using this beautiful beast not as a daily driver (except in winter), but for hauling lumber from Home Depot, going out into the forest to shoot, mostly recreation.
I'm hoping I'll find lots of advice here on the best roof rack to add on, and possibly some extra lights.
