Hmm, the 4Runner has one of the highest ratings for reliability and the engines last for 100s of thousands of miles on a regular basis. I don't think it matters what oil you use as long as you change it per the service interval of 10,000 miles or less and match:

Oil grade: ILSAC GF-5 multigrade engine oil
Recommended viscosity: SAE 0W-20

If it makes you feel good to spend more on oil and change it more often, do it. Report back in 200,000 miles and let us know how it worked out. If I keep mine that long I will as well and we can compare notes.
