I pack HD marine grease all around them. The stuff is thick and contamination has had a very hard time penetrating it. I am on my first set @ 30k, lots of high speed corrugated driving, I just took them out to replace them a couple months ago. Apart from grime on the outer layer of grease the grease closest to the bearing was clean. The bearings themselves were still in fine shape, articulated, cleaned and repacked w/ grease.

I only crank it up to the full height for my once a year trip down to rock crawl in California.
I 100% agree with this. I have run a 3 different heights, ~.75/~1.5/~2.75. So much so I am going to lower my fronts a bit closer to ~2.0, I will take a little bit of rake back for comfort and fuel economy. I'd like to try a little longer/stiffer spring so I can forgo some of the preload.
