Have with partial steps.
Between my frame and the pinch weld gets pretty munged, easily as much as my sliders, they self clean pretty well unless its that red clay sticky crap. The rest stays pretty decent unless I belly out on blobby breakovers.
I'll say blowing down gravel roads they have saved me from serious pepper jobs, the bottomside of the frame and sliders are pocked.
