Offset does more than push the tire out.
I am considering swapping 2019 stock SR5 wheels for the TRDs. Because the offset is different, it's not a perfectly equal swap. The lesser offset on the TRDs does "push" the wheel further outward from the wheel well by a little less than half an inch. But it does more than that, because decreased offset also means increased scrub radius, which means that the tire will have a larger arc of movement through its max steer angles (especially the outer corners of the tread). For those minority reports of people who have gotten rubbing after making such a swap, I wonder if this is the problem.
Has anyone had a confirmed case of tire rubbing with 265/70/17 tires on the TRD wheels? If so, which tires?
Also, has anyone had a confirmed case of non-rubbing with 275/70/17 tires on TRD wheels? How about non-rubbing with 275 tires on the stock wheels?
