I sorta agree with you, but I should have worded that a bit better and said...most shops....instead of...no shops...also I'm of the opinion that most shops are going to remove the skid plate because they're using impacts and that's faster than finding a jug and cutting it to suit the job and as we all know that going lead to broken, stripped, and crossed threaded bolts.
