no modern engine should be running oil that cold on a normal basis. that's waaaay under temperature for proper oil detergents to work right and would not allow for water vapor to burn off on a regular basis which creates other issues.
temps will definitely climb above typical ranges in hot weather but regardless of how cold it is (within reason, not talking like -50 in Alaska), after extended normal operation the oil temps should always reach a consistent ceiling.

I’m not sure where the sensor is but the temperature is quite alarming, i’m thinking about getting a thermal gun and measuring the pan temperature and comparing it with the gauge. I might try and surf YouTube tonight to see if I can find out where that engine oil temperature sensor is. Or maybe I’ll try and stop by the dealership tomorrow. This is definitely something I want to get to the bottom of.
