I see there’s a price difference but could I just use the M-series battery switch to disconnect my blue sea fuse box from the battery system in my 4Runner?

Thanks!
Sure you could use a switch as a disconnect, but the purpose of the circuit breaker is that it will trip if any piece of downstream work shorts out. It will prevent fires or damage.

Why not use a Maxi-fuse holder right off the battery? They come in 60, 80, not sure if 100 also, maybe. That will be cheap and still protect. Or put the maxi-fuse before the switch if you still want the on/off feature.

People go for the breaker as it is the neatest solution.

Edit: after looking at the 2 products, there is also the size factor. The switches are kind of big and bulky for under hood work. The blue seas breaker is smaller and neater.
