I have a diesel hilux surf (KZN185 with a KZ-te engine) which despite has a electronic controlled diesel injection does not have a cruise control.
I'm wondering if its need an additional module to instal an aftermarket on it or just a cruise control stalk would work.

Guys, here are pics of how I installed the actual CC actuator behind the air filter box.
Hope this makes it more clear. If you exchange the accelerator cable with a different length, you can install the actuator in any available free space. I had space behind the filter box, so that's where I mounted it.
Also make sure when you attach the cable to the throttle, that is has no slack, otherwise when you set it at certain speed, it will jerk the car every time it pulls to accelerate or lets it go to decelerate.
You can see where I ran the electrical harness into the cab- thru a hole in the driver's side of the firewall.
