Unfortunately even my usual Amayama is too expensive. $150 per axle, not including shipping :O

I was browsing the Rockford CV catalog and I think the 335-10A (for a 1995 Jetta) should fit on the outer joint. The less ribs should also help with the rubbing.

The dimensions I measured on my spare OEM CV axle are:
Inner shaft OD: 1.27"
Outer CV housing OD: 3.67"
CV boot height when installed: 4.25"
Number of ribs: 6

Assuming the dimensions of this alternative are correct, RockAuto even has some relatively inexpensive boots for a 1995 VW Jetta that are made of thermoplastic.

The inner CV boot I will just continue to use the neoprene ones but with a boot stretch mod.
