Just wanted to share the good news. I took a gamble on some RedRock "Tacoma" recovery hooks from Extreme Terrain (not shilling, if you find them somewhere else grab em)

I wasn't sure if they would fit the bolt pattern drilled into the 5th gen frame, but they totally fit!
I'm happy to have two of these installed because this allows me to remove the D-ring and frees up my tow hitch for a tire carrier or bike rack again. Plus distributing the recovery over two separate points is a bit safer.
