Also, how much utility does one get out of a gallon tank? I suppose it depends on how much PSI it can handle, but in terms of running air tools or lockers or anything, does a one gallon tank in conjunction with the compressor offer significant utility?

This is a bolt on application, no drilling required. the 1 gallon tank is great if you plan on bringing air tools out and need a pop of an impact wrench. the gallon tank offers increased air capacity and is a great addition.
