Tirescanner.com was founded by entrepreneur Mike Welch, who pioneered the so-called "click and fit" tire retailing in Europe with Blackcircles.com, which started in the UK in 2001 and quickly grew to become the leading online tire retailer. Mike eventually sold Blackcircles to Michelin for $75m in 2015. Since then he has come to the US to develop his next big venture - an online tire platform for the US market - in late 2018 that platform was launched - Tirescanner.com
