I've been skimming threads trying to get a good understanding, but I'm just asking here directly hoping for a knowledgeable answer. And no offense to OP, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done this and put it to the test off road.
Is there any work besides trimming the bumper/fender liner and a BMC that's necessary to run 285/75/17 tires?
I've seen references to hammering a pinch weld, but without pictures I have no idea what that entails.
I don't have any issues with cutting up my bumper more than it is. And I've resigned myself to the fact that a BMC will need to happen. I just want to know what I'm in for in addition to that... no surprises on my first trail ride after installing. I had a passing conversation with someone at Slee Offroad when I was buying an air compressor, and he seemed to think that 285/75/17 would entail a lot of additional effort.
