I was thing to try a resistor but I have to order them and it will take a while for them to get here. I can't tap the head light circuit because that won't cause the same effect the dome light will. Here is a link to the tutorial that I used.

I want to use the dome light so when I unlock the using to fob the rock lights come on and when I lock the car they go off. I do a lot of camping and it would be very useful at night.
