These are the ruggedized steel units. If I was running 4-5 bars i might have considered the alu ones to keep weight off the highest point of the vehicle, but for 2 or 3 bars steel felt like a great deal.

yes it does. we had roaring and resonance that would come in hard at about 50 and 70mph, both speeds we cruise at often. the fairing eliminated it all. i think the "C-channel" shape of the bars makes this especially problematic although I think its a worthy tradeoff for the height, strength, mounting options and cost.
