I had a 265/75/16 under mine with no issue until i added a hitch. Still fit but had to let a little air out.

This. I have 265/70-17 tires on my 4Runner and a 265/75-16 spare under the truck to have the 'same' rolling diameter between the spare and the main tires. Mine fits fine with the stock hitch, fully aired up - though it is tight.
