Also - just because it shows how little effort TOyota really puts into the 4Runner vs the LC - check out the ladder setup on the LC200. It's super slick. And OEM.
Biggest downside to the base model VDJ200 is that it has the non-inter-cooled diesel. 182hp / 317ft/lb. That's a tough sell. But Toyota also sells a Prado 150 still with a 5-LE non-turbo diesel (it has 93hp). Can you imagine how slow a 4Runner would be with a 93hp engine. Dear god. And no it also doesn't have much torque - 146 ft lbs. I'm not sure it would outrun a golf cart. 0-60 would probably be 20 seconds. I'm legitimately not sure it could maintain highway speeds unloaded. So - maybe Toyota shouldn't go all the way to the bottom of the lineup.

Very interesting, thanks for all that info. A couple of observations about the photos.
- The rake on that would drive all the levelers on this forum crazy, it looks like a six inch difference.
- That minimal ladder. How is someone other than Spidermen supposed to use it? Left foot on bumper, right foot on tail light step, left foot on ?
Or is it right foot on tire, left foot on tail light step, right foot on munchkin two-step?
Anyway, I like it.
