Having been to Costa Rica myself, I would say to get that Dobinsons or OME stuff and lift it up a little because there's some fun stuff to do off-road!
When it comes to a lift kit like that it will come with everything you "need" depending on where you get it. Being front shocks/coil-overs and rear shocks with springs. It's recommended to get aftermarket upper control arms as well if you go with a lot of lift, so you can correct the alignment properly. Check your UCA/LCA bushings as well as ball joints while you're there so you may save some time later. No matter what you will at minimum need an alignment after.
