Gotta love 4runner reliability! I did need to get my 2004 v8’s transmission rebuilt at ~175k miles, but that was after towing a trailer for 10 years. Everything else has been routine maintenance or upgrades.

I have a relative who has been a car mechanic for over 35 years. He says Toyotas are the most reliable cars.

He says BMW, on the other hand, stands for “Big Money Waster”.
