Mount Fridge Clearview Easy Slide Tray to Rear Cargo Shelf?

I am looking to mount a fridge slider in the back of my Limited (has rear cargo shelf) and was wondering if I could mount it directly to the shelf or if I'd need to remove it and add a thick piece of plywood to replace it. That way I could mount the slide directly to the plywood instead?

I don't think the shelf would be strong enough to withstand the weight of the slide and fridge.

This is the rear cargo shelf:

This is the slide I'd like to install:

Thank you so much for your help!
