I got distracted with a blown alternator (courtesy of swimming in a mud pit), which is a PITA since I have a Surf and not a 4runner, and finding an NA cross-over part can be a pain.

My plan, however, is to first try doubling up the wave washer and, failing that, a rag joint from a later model.

I'll update here when I do this.
