Not really overkill. Definitely would feel better at the 600-650 range. I have a full front bumper, winch, lightbar, roof rack, skids, and it works nicely. Before that I had the same, just a Lo-Pro bumper and 650 handled it well. Again, if you can handle it, it doesn't matter, but ideally yes, overkill.
