I was not aware the limited smart key had a separate system which acts as the receiver for the remote keyless entry. Ive had many Toyotas over the years. (currently 91 Supra turbo, 97 Tacoma ext cab 4x4, and just got the 13 4runner limited last fall, so I'm still learning about it). Makes sense that a replacement MPX from a limited would be plug and play.
What is your opinion on the feasibility of having the orig MPX repaired? It appeared to burn the diodes D022 and D024.
