If you use the 8 factory mounting points, all you need do is use plenty of sealant around the bolts where they screw into the roof(some use silicone and others use butyl rubber) and you won't have leaks. There is plenty of info on this on other roof rack chains.

The factory uses a foam washer at those places which leaves a lot to be desired
