I still have to purchase the following and have some questions:

Sleeping bag - I have no idea what temperature rating to aim for here. I dont plan on sleeping outside so I was thinking ~20F at the most?

Shovel - Trying to figure out how much shovel I need considering most of my trunk space is already obliterated by a dog crate, suitcase and the items listed above. Is this something I can purchase once I get into NM/AZ territory at HomeDepot/Lowes?

Recovery Boards - Same concerns as with the shovel above. How critical is it to have these out in the desert and is it possible to obtain these once I'm mobile and out of the midwest?

Snatch/Tow strap kit - Can someone please make a recommendation on the exact items I want here? Confused by various components needed here.

Tools - Since space is limited I am trying to figure out exactly whats needed here. Could someone please comment on this one with specific tools/sizes? My tool box is old and lacking so I may just need to purchase something new.
