Traced it's way to the thicker gunk of the lower lower part of the VVT-i line as you described. The oil splatter is heaviest around that area looks like it's the source. Sprayed it off with Simple Green then soap and water. I'll be monitoring it to make sure it's coming from there.

What's the consensus if I don't fix this right away?
Would oil pour out from the bottom connection at all? Or do I need to do this during an oil change?
Thanks for those parts list and your tips for this job too.

I have just over 51,000 miles
As far as I can tell this is something you could put another 200,000 miles on and really not have a huge problem. You'll just have to make sure you're not losing too much oil, and if you care, go in there and clean up every once in awhile.

Me personally, I couldn't sleep good at night knowing that I have a leak, so I took care of it. Wasn't too terrible of a job, but I did scratched up my hands pretty good getting back in the cramped space. So, moderately difficult, but pretty quick job.

Since yours is so minimal right now I personally would give it another five to ten thousand miles and see if it even gets worse. Maybe that's all the more you're ever going to see of it. Good luck!
