Try the OEM nuts for the top plate, you'll find they are about an 1/8" shorter than the aftermarket hardware and better quality, and the aftermarket Top Plates have a lil more thread, you should be fine without pressing new studs out and in, and it will look safe/proper capturing all the threads on the nut, although not necessary technically.
