Make sure you have a fresh set of lower ball joints and oem bolts on there because lifting will put more stress on them and they are a big source of catastrophic failures and totaled vehicles.
You can lift 3” with no upper control arms or panhard correction, it won’t hurt anything, I did it for many thousands of miles however the control arms and a better alignment were a game changer for me as far as drivability and the panhard correction helped a good bit too. I also had to run wheel spacers with 285s to keep from rubbing before I got upper arms.
If it’s just for looks you can do a spacer lift, it might be an unpopular opinion on here but there’s nothing wrong with a lift and big tires for looks, the entire Jeep community does it and if that’s how you get enjoyment from the vehicle go for it.
