i've been replacing my oil every 10000 miles for 15 years now and i can tell the oil wasn't changed.
or maybe they did but did not replace the filter.
when i change my oil, after the oil change, i could not even see what level the oil was. in addition to that, i drain the oil for 1 hour so all remaining oil could drain out.
in a quick change oil change, what they do is remove the oil, once it's no longer draining fast, they seal it back up and a lot of oil is still in the engine.

There are too many variables that affect color of the oil such as # starts/stops, op temperatures reached, type of additives (some change color faster/deeper than others), soot or other stuff that gets by piston rings or the air filter, to name a few.
