Oil in the X case is gear oil, different from motor oil and wouldn't likely be that dark unless it's never been touched.
Looks thick & cruddy like grease splatter from the drive shaft to me.. Nothing to be concerned over.

There's a lot of grease fling in the first photo.

OP, cleck and change the transfer case oil, make sure the fill and drain are sealed and tight. Then I'd clean all the muck down with some kerosene and just keep an eye on it.
