Looking good- I am enjoying reading this. Similar to my own. I picked up a 97 with a locker about 3 weeks ago. It has 285k miles- new head, new tming and WP. Needed tires, rear axle seals, tie rod, alignment, muffler. Got it for 4k and will be in for 8 before you know it, but its awesome. I like it more than my old 4th gen 4runner and 2nd gen tacoma already! Keep it up!
