Modern batteries do not need to have distilled water added.
Repair mode? On your battery charger? If it is what I think it is, don't used it on a good battery.
Also, be wary of "trickle chargers" for they can over charge a battery which will damage it. The smart battery maintainers, like what are sold in motorcycle shops, are OK for they will suspend all charging when the battery is fully charged.
How long does your 4Runner sit? If only a couple of weeks, or perhaps a month, you don't need to keep a battery maintainer on it.
