Had some free time today and decided to get around to some much needed reviews on some gear we have been testing. Being in a position where we are going through so many different camping setups we have been working on creating our own reviews of various gear we have used. Hoping to get our website updated soon with everything, but I will share some of our favorites that I think others would enjoy!

First up is a new fridge made by SetPower! This is their TC35 model which is a 37QT size, but they also offer a TC20 model in a 21QT. We have been using an RTIC45 cooler on nearly every trip in the past, and always wanted the convenience of a portable fridge. We no longer have to worry about if our ice is melting and ruining our food, or if we need to leave camp to pick up some more. One of the biggest improvements is the space saving from not filling the cooler with ice. There is so much lost space when you have to fill it with ice, and we are able to fit a lot more food and drinks in a smaller size fridge.

Power wise we have been using our Yeti Goal Zero 400, and just last week we picked up a RockPals 100W solar panel from Amazon. It arrived two days before we hit the road, and we were hoping it would be enough to get us through the long weekend. We had thought about doing a dual battery setup, but the portability of a solar panel gives us the option to use it in both cars, and not just our 4Runner. We were so surprised with the performance of this little setup, and it kept our goal zero 100% charged the entire trip! Even at times we didn't setup the solar panel and our power level dropped to 60%, it brought it back up to full within a few hours. While we were lucky to have a bright sun, even in less than favorable conditions, simply being able to maintain or extend our goal zero's charge by a day or two is what we were hoping for. In ideal conditions it exceeded our expectations.

Our RockPals 100W system. With the ability to fold it up into the size of a textbook, this little guy rocks. We initially thought it may not be enough, but when the sun was shining in the desert it was doing better than our goal zero! We were constantly monitoring the input and only needed to reposition it about 3 times a day. It was able to input double what the fridge was drawing during the hotter days, and sat idle at times when the goal zero was completely full. We had a 100% full goal zero by the time we returned home. Your results may vary if using a larger goal zero or drawing more power throughout the day using additional accessories.

We have been putting this fridge to the test over the last couple trips, and feel like this is well worth its price. At roughly 1/3 the price of brands like Dometic, you can't complain. They come with a 2 year compressor warranty, and 1 year warranty on other parts. Beyond that, if you ever have to replace it you are still saving money when compared to spending nearly $1k on alternatives. We have yet to have any issues and will continue to be our go to fridge setup. We are working with SetPower closely on future products and will be testing more of their products. Their customer service from the start has been outstanding, and one of the reasons we gravitated towards them. We are working on getting a discount code setup for our followers, and we will be sure to let people know when it is available!
