If you use the Oil Filter drain tool - would you still need the filter wrench?
So the filter wrench helps you get your filter housing on and off. The metal housing is just an upgrade to the plastic one. The filter drain is a replacement for using the little plastic one that comes with every filter. Just makes it a cleaner change.
