I have 2.5’s w/ DSC front and rear, I have had them for approaching 6 years and low miles, 40k, they are great shocks. So I had the fronts a year before the rears, this certainly made it most noticeable, the stock rears wouldn’t dampen anywhere near as evenly as the fronts. If you drive faster than crawling you’ll feel the difference off road and on. The way the shock dampens is crazy good.

I have two small regrets, when I bought these, not many others had so there was little useful knowledge out there and I relied on what little info there was.

First buy tundra rears, I don’t know the model number but with the 4runner rears you can only go up to 1.5 inches of lift, the tundras you can take to 3”.

Second the DSC resi’s are nice for sure and you certainly notice the difference when you adjust from full range top to bottom or vice versa but if you don’t adjust them much, maybe consider the simpler single adjustment reservoir. The DSC dials get mucked up pretty easily and the O rings that keep the muck out of the gap between the adjustment shaft and the housing don’t last, are a pain to find good replacements and allow crap to build up making adjustments a PITA.

EDIT: just want to add the any progressive dampening high end shock you buy is going to be a joy to drive, not just FOX but the are others too. Note these are rebuildable and expect you will have to get them rebuilt eventually (between 5k and 60k depending on how and where you drive) and it costs a few hundred bucks to get done or the tools you need to do it yourself.
