One other related (novice) question - when doing the injectors, is it best to also do the valve cover gaskets? Am I causing a lot more work for later if I skip the valve cover gaskets during the injector install? I realize they are unrelated - it’s just that my gaskets are leaking and due for maintenance, but I can drive with the gaskets the way they are but I can’t drive with the injectors the way they are right now.

You are already most of the way there by the time you pull the injectors, midswell do valve cover gaskets as well IMO.. Basically you’ll end up doing most of what your doing twice if you wait.
