I have been planning to venture deeper into CO but it kinda never seems to work for us. When we go further than 1 day from home, we go really far like Montana.
I see a lot of the CO trails were bumped in difficulty by Wells in the latest edition. Here and in UT things are not so bad: the hardcore trails that get the abuse are clearly differentiated from regular difficult and moderate trails.

Don't tell anyone here, but an Outback will handle bumpy moderate trails better than a 4runnner.
I don't think I have any Well's books from less than 10 years ago. I can tell you the trail conditions are highly variable. A good local trail to me, Sheep Creek, can range anywhere from a 3 to 10+ in the last 3 years, depending on rock fall and washouts. Nothing like winching down a 30 degree slope.
