So that's the deal. The standard springs are NOT 600 no matter what a vendor may tell you. Bilstein would not tell me exactly but is 550 max so "550".
300lb evenly distributed is not that much but it seemed to have a marginal impact with the "550" springs.
I would say that for Midwest conditions, I would go standard spring all day long for its exceptional ride quality.
However, if you do a lot of rocks, roots, even at low speed, your front will be falling onto them with gusto. The soft front springs make the dynamic ground clearance in the front ridiculous. Going from 1 to 2.5 inches of lift won't really solve the problem though it may reduce it.
In sum, I would take the soft springs in the Midwest for pavement and dirt roads but not if I were planning on frequent rocks, roots, ruts, bumps, ditches.
