I can't tell what lens he used, but you can get work/scene lenses for the S2 that covers 120 degrees, so you'd get uniform coverage I suspect.
Also, an alternate route you can use for the wire is inside the frame rail. There are holes near the engine and in the back so you just need some fish tape/sticks. I've talked to a few people that went that route. Not sure it's necessary - what the OP used is pretty solid (the BD extensions already come sheathed so he effectively doubled up) - but another option.

Yep - I used the work/scene lens for that wide throw of light...these are meant for near field vision while reversing, and/or when behind the truck using it for trailers/night camping setup light/worklight at the ranch/etc.
Do you have examples of the wiring through the frame rail?? I had thought about that, but didn't really explore very far due to thinking I was losing my mind and getting "too creative," haha.
